Fairlight's Lamp Shoppe

The "Buttercup" dollhouse is made by Corona. This is the second dollhouse I have made, and it went better than the first. I started the construction of the house in February 1999, and completed it, as seen below, in October 2000. The dollhouse turned out to be a lamp shop because I was fortunate to find a lot of really neat beads and jewellery findings in a craft store. My husband, Donald and I made the lamps and Debi Kolenchuk convinced me I had to electrify it...she said something like:

"You're making a lamp shop and you're not electrifying it?!?!?!?!?!!?"
(for those of you who don't know Debi, she has a small, gentle voice...well, it wasn't when she spoke the above!) Thanks Debi, for making me see the light!

More dried flower arrangements!

The house was finished with acrylic paints.

Did a bit of a better job on the shingles this time.

I'm really happy with the store sign.

Cute!

The lamp shoppe workroom.

The Cactus Garden is a Christmas present from Anne Gerdes.

This was the first display case I made...did I have trouble keeping this thing together to dry. I've learned a few tricks since then....like a magnetic gluing jig!

And yes, the display case is still together!

Husband, Donald took this picture and the one below...from the outside looking in!
